We here at CBJ have just finished up the joyous hustle and bustle of Free Comic Book Day which is pretty much the main reason why you're receiving the mailer this late in the week. It's ok though because it was an amazing and fun day. I can barely think of many things better than free comics, especially the look on people's faces when they find out they're free with no strings attached. Simply awesome. Free comics weren't the only good thing today though. We are extremely honored and proud to have had Evan Dorkin, Lauren Monardo and John Ruiz hang out, sign books, do sketches and talk comics with everyone who came in today. As always we are extremely thankful for their continued support and hope that they will come back soon. And, of course, we and they would be nothing without you guys, so thanks. In addition to Free Comic Book Day this week we also had the Iron Man Tailgate Party. Thanks to all those who attended, took part in our secret sale, ate those delicious sandwiches (compliments of Chow located on Forest Ave near Jody's), enjoyed some drinks and some good company. It was a great time and we hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we enjoyed ourselves. A couple of quick reminders and then the jam-packed list of this week's books and toys: MONDAY NIGHT ULTIMATE FIGHTING SYSTEM TOURNAMENTS Come join us every Monday evening at 4:00 PM and enter our weekly Ultimate Fighting System (UFS) card tournaments. If you don't know how to play, don't you worry! We will teach you how and guide you through every step of the way. The entrance fee is one booster pack for any game and first prize is two booster packs of your choice. So don't hesitate! Monday, Monday, Monday! Also, if you happen to be at the store on a different day, ask Waffle (the weirdo with the long hair) to tell you all about it!
